Coach Chris nelsonBorn in 1973 played Baseball and Football at Morse High School in San Diego. He was offered draft by Houston Astros his Senior year but decided to furthur his education at San Diego Mesa College where he received an Associates Degree. He was offered draft after his Sophomore season by the San Diego Padres but continued his education with Oklahoma State Cowboys where he was a Starting Pitcher on a scholarship. He was offered draft by the Florida Marlins at the end of his Junior season and signed with Oakland A's his senior year.

With proper training and health to prevent injuries to have a successful career. Coach Rios gives all the core fundamental mechanics with over 15 years of experience.

Coach Corey ANDRADECorey is our strength and conditioning coordinator. Leading our teams in weight training, position
specific conditioning, flexibility, and overall health in our athletes. Corey is a former professional baseball player where he had stints in both the United States and Mexico. He graduated with multiple degrees, including Sports Management with a concentration in coaching. He is now a certified master trainer through the ISSA. Corey brings a challenging outlook, which will drive our athletes to reach their peak performance. We are excited for him to join the Arizona Smashers Baseball and Softball Academy. |
Education: Brittany Jimenez
Brittany is an instructional coach for teachers. She began her career in education as a middle school Math teacher in Glendale in 2006. She taught middle school math for 6 years before coaching teachers. She has been a master teacher and instructional coach since 2013. She graduated with honors from Arizona State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She also received her Master’s Degree from Grand Canyon University in 2013 in Educational Technology. |
Wellness Coach: Courtney Jenkins
(Director of Advisory Board) Coach Courtney Jenkins is a Fitness and Wellness Specialist, with a Masters of Science degree in Exercise and Wellness, from Arizona State University and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, specializing in Motivational Interviewing methodologies for Coaching. His educational background also includes an Associate’s degree in Fire Science and Electronic Technology. He is a State Certified Emergency Paramedic, American Council of Exercise PEER Fitness Trainer and Maricopa County Adjunct Instructor. Coach Jenkins is a retired First Responder with the City of Phoenix Fire Department, during his 27 year tenure, he performed the duties of a Firefighter/Paramedic, Engineer/Driver, Captain and Chief Officer. Coach Jenkins has over two decades of experience conducting Motivational Speaking engagements and facilitating Health and Wellness workshops, for multiple government entities, along with serving as a Community Education Specialist (CES). He continues assisting firefighter candidates with Candidate Physical Agility Testing (CPAT), and Oral Interview preparation, in addition to Health and Wellness Coaching to support Student Athlete’s career transitions through the College of Health Solutions at ASU. |
